The Shoppes at La Salle Grand Opening
JKR's latest retail project, which sits across from La Salle University, also serves as a cornerstone of La Salle's vision for revitalizing the community surrounding its campus. The new $15 Million, 80,000-square foot shopping center is the result of a partnership among La Salle University, retail developer Moreland Development, Fresh Grocer and elected officials. On August 21, Jerry Roller attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring remarks from La Salle University president Brother Michael McGinniss, City Councilwoman Donna Reed Miller, State Rep. John Myers. The Shoppes at La Salle are anchored by a 50,000-square foot Fresh Grocer, bringing a grocery store to the neighborhood for the first time in 40 years. The other businesses at the center include Dunkin Donuts, Game Stop, T Mobile, Beneficial Bank, Rite Aid Pharmacy and America's Best Eyewear. The retail center brings a newfound convenience to both the students at La Salle and neighborhood residents. The project's environmentally friendly construction was designed to minimize energy consumption and help reduce the stores' carbon footprints.
