Formerly known as the United States Naval Asylum, the campus was built in 1827 by William Strickland. Designated as a National Historic Landmark since 1971, the Naval Home ownership has been shared by Toll Brothers, Inc. and the federal government.
JKR Partners was hired to develop the new condominium units within Naval Square’s existing historic structures: Biddle Hall - the 4-story main structure and the two dependencies: the Governor’s Residence to the North and the Surgeon General’s Residence to the South. The design focused on maintaining as much of the existing historical fabric as possible.
