Village at West Main Wins Montgomery Award
Montgomery Awards named JKR Partners’ project The Village at West Main and Turbo Lofts 2009 Revitalization Award Winner. These awards are dedicated to raising planning and design awareness in our communities and honor the developers, consultants, organizations, and municipalities for their commitment and contribution to the enhancement of Montgomery County. This revitalization award fosters revitalization in Montgomery County by recognizing successful revitalization projects and programs. Successful projects and programs help stabilize and renew these areas, creating more vibrant and attractive places.
JKR Partners developed the master plan for the site and designed 2 multi-tenant retail buildings for this project. The shopping center was designed to evoke the nature of the industrial complex which once occupied the site. Exposed steel structure, historic brick and large industrial light fixtures are used to create separate retail buildings which retain the feel of the past while accommodating today’s most prominent retailers. The award recipients will be honored at an awards ceremony on Wednesday, November 18.
